Dear Fellow Nobles,
Another January has rolled by and we had a very successful Mizpah
Shrine Circus! We thank all those who gave untold hours selling tickets
or working at the Coliseum from setup to cleanup. We also thank
Steve Trump and his crew for all the hard work they have done this
past year to make the 2017 Shrine Circus an unforgettable experience
for the audience. We thank Tarzan Zerbini for bringing his wonderful
circus to Fort Wayne in his usual fine style.
By the time you read this, the Potentate's trip to Antigua in February
will be a thing of the past. Another notable event on the Shrine
calendar is the Mizpah Shrine Children’s Easter Party on April 1, and
then the Mizpah Shrine Oyster Dinner and Men's NCAA Basketball
championship game on April 3. This event will be an entertaining
evening with your fellow Shriners and their ladies. The oyster dinner
will begin at 7 p.m. and the game on the big screen will begin at 9 p.m.
Plan to attend this event and enjoy an evening of great food and see a
sport that is dear to the hearts of many Hoosiers!
On April 8 we will have the spring ceremonial. We hope the number
of new Shriners we initiate will be outstanding. Bobbi Jo Wright,
the little girl on the Silent Messenger, will be present for the arch
degree. The first section of the ceremonial will begin at 2 p.m. and
the arch degree will commence at 6 p.m. Ladies are invited to attend
the arch degree.
We are planning for at least four Shrine parades this year.
There is
a possibility of more parades; the Mizpah Divan will discuss them as
they are presented to us. The parade schedule is posted on Page 7,
so flip over and view it there. We will also publish it on the website,
which will reflect additions or changes.
We understand the frustration of many of you Shriners as the dues
notices were not sent out on a timely basis this past fall. We promise
that situation will be resolved in coming years. If you haven't received
your dues notice, please contact the Mizpah offi ce at (260 ) 426-4543
or email at recorder@mizpahshrine.com and we will send you a new
dues notice. The offi ce is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
