THANK YOU
My last Allah Bi article is done with so much emotion. I can’t tell you what this journey has meant to Lynn and me. There are so many people, clubs and units to thank for making it all possible.
First, thanks to the Divan and Karen Kippert for being with us as we made this wonderful journey. And a very special thanks to Ellis Ryan for keeping me on track and out of trouble - for the most part.
Many people need to be thanked for stepping up when asked. Although there are many more, I want to especially thank:
• Dave and Becky Bockelman for their outstanding work all year, with Dave as our Chief Aid and Becky always there to do whatever was needed.
• Steve Trump and the Circus Committee and all the voluteers for another great Circus.
• Jan and Deb Van Zant, Jeff Stanford and Chris Harwood for a great Valentine’s Dance. Too bad the weather wasn’t better.
• Steve Cowan and his committee for the Sportsman’s Raffle.Plus all their great volunteers.
• Gil Smith and Eric Bickle for a great Golf Outing
• Lowell and Linda May for Chairing a great Ball and to their entire committee. With special thanks to Pat Ryan for what had to be many hours of work on decorations and the silent auction which I might add raised $3,705.31. The clubs and units donated an additional $4,500 to make a grand total of $8,205.31 for the Transportation Fund. GREAT JOB!
• All the Clubs and Units for their continued support not only us but of the Shrine and our Philanthropy.
The one thing that has meant the most to Lynn and me is the many friends we have made over the last five years – friends that we never would have met had I not decided to run for office. We look forward to many years of fun and fellowship with you all.
If you think or hope that we are going to ride off into the sunset, you are wrong. After a brief respite to regroup we will be back looking forward to finding a new way to remain involved. I hope to get back to driving patients on a more regular basis, for one thing.
We wish the incoming Divan only the best and ask that you give them all the support you have shown us.
