Has this ever been some winter? First it snowed then
it snowed some more and then we got the really heavy
stuff. The weather has made most event attendance at
Mizpah unpredictable at best. For those who fought
the elements to attend an event whether it was the
Circus, Stated Meetings, Yoshi Monte Carlos or club
and unit meetings I would like to extend my gratitude
for your resilience to the forces of nature your efforts
were/are greatly appreciated.
For those who attended the Pote’s trip to the
Dominican Republic, thank you. Kathy and I had a
great time and truly enjoyed your company. We hope
you found the experience as good as we did.
When you see Rick Stirratt congratulate him on the
addition of a new son-in-law. His daughter Mandy
and husband Brad were married on a rooftop garden
overlooking the ocean. The reception following was
one we will always remember. Again thank you Rick.
Mizpah’s Spring Ceremonial will be April 19th.
Registration starts at 9:00 AM with ceremonial starting
at 10:00AM. Brian McNaughton and the Ceremonial
Cast are working hard to present a program which will
be truly meaningful. The Directors staff will provide
us with entertainment while the Class Directors
will keep everything running smoothly. Please plan
on attending. We will have refreshment and light
snacks after the proceedings. The Divan will accept
petitions prior to the start of proceedings please bring
your completed petitions and qualified candidates
to ceremonial. Membership is every Noble’s
responsibility.
Lady Kathy is diligently making preparations’ for
the Mizpah Ladies’ party May 1st. Nobles please let
your lady know she is invited to attend an evening of
refreshment, dinner and entertainment and should plan
on making reservations as soon as possible.
The Sportsman Raffle should be gaining momentum
as you read this. Dave Elliott and the Raffle committee
have been working hard to make the Second Annual
Raffle September 6th a bigger event with more things
to do as well as additional prizes to win. There will be
more space for club and units to have their own raffle.
If your club has not decided to raffle something please
reconsider. You will have an opportunity to sell your
raffle tickets to more than 2500 attendees.
Sportsman Raffle tickets are printed and distribution
has begun. Should you need tickets to sell or buy
stop by the Circus office during their regular business
hours and pick them up. Everything is just as last
year; sell three Tickets and gain the opportunity to
enter the sellers raffle at no additional charge. We
are looking forward to improving our ticket sales by
offering higher quality items than last year. The 105th item drawn will be for the Grand Prize; a Browning
Citori 725, Over/Under 12 ga. with case valued over
$2000.00.
Coho fishing is fast approaching. This is the 40th
anniversary of this event. Derby dates this year are
registration, Meet and Greet Thursday May 8th, fishing
Friday and Saturday with the Awards Banquet starting
at 5:30 PM. Please plan on attending this fun event.
Fraternally Yours,
Steve Cowan, Potentate
